Is this you?

Many adults with ADHD were never diagnosed as children, or were told they were just “lazy” or “unfocused.” Others were diagnosed years ago but need updated documentation to access academic or professional accommodations. An evaluation provides clarity — a formal diagnosis, a detailed explanation of your cognitive profile, and a written report you can use.

  • College and graduate students: struggling academically despite strong effort, or needing documentation for your school’s disability services office.
  • Professionals preparing for licensing exams: LSAT, MCAT, GRE, GMAT, and other high-stakes tests require current documentation (typically within 3–5 years) to approve accommodations.
  • Adults newly seeking a diagnosis: difficulty sustaining attention, chronic disorganization, or lifelong patterns of procrastination that have never been formally evaluated.
  • Adults with outdated testing: prior evaluation older than 3–5 years that no longer meets current documentation standards.

What your evaluation includes

Clinical Interview

A thorough 60–90 minute intake covering your current concerns, developmental and academic history, family history, prior evaluations, and any relevant medical or psychiatric records.

Standardized Testing

4–6 hours of comprehensive cognitive testing measuring attention, concentration, working memory, processing speed, executive functioning, and intellectual abilities using nationally normed tests.

Behavioral and Emotional Inventories

Self-report rating scales that assess ADHD symptom severity, mood, anxiety, and related factors that can look like — or co-occur with — ADHD.

Comprehensive Written Report

A detailed report including a formal DSM-5-TR diagnosis (when criteria are met), interpretation of test results, specific accommodation recommendations, and treatment suggestions.

Feedback Session

A 30–45 minute session to review your results, discuss the diagnosis, and answer your questions before the final report is delivered.

Accommodation Documentation

Reports are written to meet the documentation standards required by college disability services offices and testing organizations including the College Board, LSAC, AAMC, ETS, and GMAC.

From first call
to final report

01

Clinical Interview

60–90 minutes

Review of current concerns, developmental and academic history, and any available prior records. Understanding your full history is essential to an accurate evaluation.

02

Testing Sessions

4–8 hours total

Standardized cognitive testing, computerized tasks, and self-report inventories. Testing may be completed in one session or split across two shorter sessions to minimize fatigue and maximize accuracy.

03

Report Writing

7–10 days

Scoring, interpretation, and integration of all findings into a comprehensive written report with DSM-5-TR diagnosis, explanation of results, and specific recommendations.

04

Feedback Session

30–45 minutes

Review of your results, diagnosis, and accommodation recommendations, with time for your questions. The final report is delivered at or following this session.

The complete evaluation process typically takes 14–21 days from the first session to the final report. Testing organizations can take an additional 7–10 weeks to review accommodation requests — schedule well in advance of any deadlines.

Common accommodations the report supports

When ADHD criteria are met, the written report documents the diagnosis and provides specific recommendations. Disability services offices and testing organizations review requests case by case. Common approved accommodations include:

  • Extended time: typically 50% or 100% additional time on exams.
  • Distraction-reduced testing environment: a separate, quieter room for exams.
  • Stop-and-start breaks: the ability to pause the clock during testing without losing time.
  • Preferential seating: front-of-class or low-distraction seating arrangements.
  • Note-taking assistance: audio recorder, laptop, or smartpen use during lectures.
  • Assignment extensions: flexible deadlines for coursework (at the institution’s discretion).

Testing organizations that commonly review accommodation requests based on this type of documentation include the College Board (SAT, AP), ACT, LSAC (LSAT), AAMC (MCAT), ETS (GRE), and GMAC (GMAT).

Transparent pricing before you commit

Comprehensive ADHD evaluations for adults typically range from $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the complexity of the case. This fee covers the clinical interview, testing sessions, scoring and interpretation, the written report, and the feedback session.

Insurance typically does not cover neuropsychological testing when the purpose is educational or professional accommodations. A detailed superbill is provided so you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Contact us with questions about cost before scheduling — we will provide a clear fee estimate upfront.

For memory and cognitive evaluations, Medicare and major insurance plans (BCBS, Cigna, Aetna) may cover testing when medically necessary. Learn more about all evaluation services →
